2010 Schedule of Events and Displays

2010 THEME:“Victorian Pastimes” 

January through April – 

  • Open by appointment only. Please call (740) 425-2273, 425-1112, 425-2343, 484-4716 or call the Museum and leave a message at (740) 425-2926 to schedule an appointment.

May – The Enchanted Nursery and Education Month

  • Christening gowns, baby items, children's clothing.
  • Local area schools are invited to bring students to visit the Museum at a reduced fee.
  • Display of military items.

June –  Grandma's Attic

  • Bridal gowns both vintage and newer gowns. Antique heirlooms from Grandma's attic.
  • "Rose Tea & Style Show," Saturday, June 19, 3 PM, the public is invited to attend. Donation $15. Reservations are required - please call (740) 695-0766 or (740) 782-1029 or (740) 425-2273. The tour fee is extra.

July – The Ladies Parlor Treasures

  • Display of needlework, china painting, nature collections, feather works and floral arrangements.

August – Family Time Memories

  • Picnic baskets and family mementos will be presented.
  • A Victorian Family Fun Day - Sunday, August 15 from 3 to 6 PM. The public is invited. Enjoy a leisurely day of a Victorian family. You will experience playing croquet and badminton an ice cream social, cakewalk and music of the day. Please join us for a visit to the past.         

September – The Gentlemen's Hunt

  • Hunting and fishing items of interest for the gentlemen will be on display.

October –

  • The museum will be open by appointment only beginning October 1 thru November 26.

November –  The “Magic of Christmas" tours

  • The Museum opens for the “Magic of Christmas” holidays tours beginning November 27 & 28, 1-4 PM. All 26 rooms of the museum are beautifully decorated for the Christmas Holidays.

December – The “Magic of Christmas” tours continue   

  • Open each weekend through December 19.  Friday –  5 PM to 8 PM, Saturday & Sunday, 1 PM to 4 PM. To serve our many visitors, the Christmas tours will be available by appointment only from December 20 thru January 8, 2011.
